Restoring Sight, Renewing Hope: MS Foundation and Partners Deliver Free Eye Care to Over 4,000 Gombe Residents
In a landmark medical intervention that has brought relief to thousands, the MS Foundation is proud to announce the successful conclusion of a massive four-day free eye screening and cataract surgery outreach in Gombe State.
A Collaborative Effort Organized by the Muslim World League in collaboration with the Gombe State Ministry of Health, and powered by the logistical support of MS Foundation and EduShine Foundation, the outreach was a resounding success.
The exercise, held between December 1st and 2nd, 2025, and extending over four days, took place at the Gombe State Specialist Hospital and six other centers including Comprehensive Health Centre Dukku, PHCC Bajoga, Deba, Kumo, Billiri, and Kaltungo.
The Impact in Numbers
- 4,000+ residents screened and treated for various eye conditions.
- 200+ successful cataract surgeries performed free of charge.
- 1,000+ patients attended to at the Specialist Hospital alone.
– 11 Local Government Areas covered.
Bridging the Gap: MS Foundation’s Role Understanding that access to care is often hindered by distance and cost, MS Foundation, led by its Founder and Gombe State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Muhammad Gambo Magaji, stepped in to ensure no one was left behind.
MS Foundation took the responsibility of transporting beneficiaries from rural communities across the state to the surgery venue in Gombe metropolis. In addition to free transportation, the foundation provided accommodation and feeding for patients and their caregivers, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free recovery process.
Voices from the Beneficiaries The joy of restored sight was palpable. Talatu Adamu, a beneficiary, shared her emotional testimony:
“I had just one eye yesterday, but now I can see everything with my two eyes.”

Looking Ahead We extend our deepest gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, for providing the facilities, and to the Muslim World League medical team led by Dr. Ismail Idrees and Lead Surgeon Dr. Sama’ila Idris for their technical expertise.
At MS Foundation, we remain committed to our mantra: Enabling Prosperity for all. We will continue to support humanitarian efforts that improve the quality of life for the people of Gombe State.
